What my paper dolls look like

Above is an image of articulated paper dolls that I have made. The rabbit is made from some flocked Christmas cards I cut to make his jacket from. His head is a Victorian die cut and he is embellished with German Dresdens. The two fairies are my original artwork. They are made with paper and silk. These 2 ladies are not articulated but the original design of the doll is. I envisioned them being used to add to a page in a junk journal. The Santa and boy are a set of articulated dolls from Good House Keeping, Dec 1918. There is no signature on the page so I do not know who the artist is at the moment. There are 6 sets of dolls, which ran through to May of 1919. They are just lovely and charming and evoke joy.

This doll is designed by waifsNwhatnots (Her store is on Etsy). She is called Christmas Pixie Elf with Whimsical Fox Friend. She comes in digital format, so you can control lots of things. In this example I added an underskirt made from crepe and tissue paper. I added glitter to the ball that decorated her outfit. I am thinking that I need to do another version and do more dimensional work on her. waifsNwhatnots is a wonderful artist and her designs are fun to put together.

I call this paper doll Hetty, after one of my favorite actresses, Dee Dee Blanchard. She is a card type style of doll. She is made from cardstock and bits of silk and netting. There is a velvet paper hat. She is designed by me using various Halloween images along with my not so sophisticated art skills.

Well it is almost time to go have tacos. Maybe I will do another post latter tonight.

A new beginning

This is a new beginning and a new blog banner. It was kind of fun working on the banner. Not to good at it but I will keep working on getting better.  I am working on Paige. You can see her to the left.

She is a mechanical doll. She waves her bannner and kicks up her left leg when you pull on the rod with the heart on it. She has a place on her banner to write a message to the one you are giving her to or just a piece of art.
